Private Gerald Bull’s Memorial Bench

The seat was donated by the people of Brixworth and other friends in memory of Private Gerald Bull of the 3rd Battalion Parachute Regiment.

At just 18 years old he set sail with the rest of his battalion on the Canberra and joined the rest of the Task Force who went to free the Islands.

On 12 June 1982 just two days before the War ended Ged (as he was known) was seriously wounded on Mount Longdon as 3 Para fought to take it from the Argentinians who were well dug in. Like too many young men that night he sadly died of his injuries.

Ged was repatriated to the UK and is now laid to rest in All Saints Churchyard in Brixworth, Northamptonshire you can find him at Section A Row 74 Grave 1 so if you’re living nearby or passing through pay him a visit.

His name lives on.

Huge thanks to the BPC Groundsman, Marc and Donald, for their hard work completing this project.
