Community Orchard – Phase 2

Calling all Green-Thumbed Volunteers!

Following the success of planting a Community Orchard on Holcot Road last November, we are pleased to announce Phase 2 is on its way!

Join us in a fantastic community effort to planting the next phase of our very own community orchard!

Date: Sunday, March 24th

Time: 10:30am – 12:30pm & 12:30pm – 2:30pm

Location: Spratton Road Park

The more helping hands we have, the faster we can turn this green space into a thriving orchard that benefits our entire community!

Whether you’re a gardening pro or a novice, your participation makes a difference!

Please RSVP if you can make it, and feel free to bring along friends and family. (Sorry no pets). Together, we can make this orchard a reality.

Bus Service 59/60 – Update

Residents will have no break in service as the 59/60 bus service will be operated by Stagecoach from 11 March. 

In February, West Northamptonshire Council was made aware that Uno would no longer operate the route after 10 March. 

The Council has worked closely with operators to ensure there is no break in this service, with Stagecoach now contracted to run this route, connecting Guilsborough, Welford and Market Harborough.

Have your say on plans to improve air quality in West Northants.

People across West Northamptonshire are being invited to have their say on proposals to address air quality concerns and improve standards across the area.

Reducing air pollution is vitally important to the local health and environment. All councils have a duty to monitor local air quality to make sure it meets certain standards. West Northamptonshire Council (WNC) monitor air quality in several locations across the area.

WNC is in the process of developing Air Quality Action Plan or AQAP which outlines the steps it will take to work towards improving air quality and reducing air pollution.

Residents and businesses across the area are now invited to view the proposals and share their views. People can have their say from Monday 19 February to Sunday 17 March by visiting the WNC website below.

Have Your Say – Cycling and Infrastructure Plans

Residents, businesses and community groups are invited to share their views on the draft Brackley, Daventry, and Towcester Local Cycling and Walking Infrastructure Plan (LCWIP).

These plans, open for public consultation until Sunday, 25 February aim to create a culture of walking and cycling by proposing infrastructure developments that make active travel a natural choice for residents and visitors.

The initiative aligns with the government’s ambition to promote cycling and walking for shorter journeys, reducing traffic congestion, enhancing air quality, and contributing to the overall well-being of the community.
