Planning Application – Land North of the Cricket Club DA/2020/0747

Outline application for mixed use development comprising commercial, business and service uses within Class E; mixed use restaurant and takeaway use (sui generis); pub/drinking establishment (sui generis); hot food takeaway (sui generis).

If you have any comments on the recent planning application submitted for the mixed use development on land north of the Cricket Club you should submit your comments directly to the Daventry District Council. You can do this via email at   or by using the comments facility on the DDC Planning System.

Northants Warm Homes is a partnership between the all district and borough councils of Northamptonshire, including the County Council. The partnership provides help and advice to all residents of Northamptonshire who want to lower their fuel bills through insulation and other home energy improvements.

Vacancy – Assistant Parish Clerk (8 hours per week) Starting at £10.65 per hour

The Parish Council has a vacancy for an Assistant Parish Clerk. The main responsibility is to provide support to the Clerk in his duties to ensure the smooth running of the Parish Council.

You will need to be a good communicator with an ability to deal with a wide range of people with both diplomacy and tact. Strong interpersonal skills are essential together with IT skills which should include the competent use of the Microsoft range of products including Word, Excel, Publisher and Outlook.

The role is based at the Brixworth Community Centre & Library although some home working may be required during the current COVID restrictions within the workplace.

BT Telephone Box

BT has contacted Daventry District Council (DDC) with proposals to remove payphones from around Daventry District.
 
DDC has now published a draft response to BT’s proposals and is encouraging residents, parish councils and other interested groups to give their views on it.
 
The District Council is proposing to object to the removal of eight modern payphones including the one on Spratton Road.
 
People have until 5pm on Monday 28 September to give their feedback on the draft response.

Have Your Say on Local Shopping

Following the discussion over the planning application at the Red Lion, the Parish Council was encouraged to talk to the developer and the Co Op. We would welcome your opinions. Please email , talk to one of us in the street, message us on Facebook or write us a note. Pass the message to those who may have an opinion but aren’t on social media. Make sure we know the views of everyone, not just those who shout the loudest.

  • Are you happy with the size and location of the Co Op where it is?
  • Do you welcome change?
  • Do we need a bigger store?
  • Do we just need more parking?
  • Is there another available location the developers should consider?

We can’t force anyone to listen to us as the Parish Council, but we can listen to you.
