Next Edition of Daventry Calling
The next edition of the Daventry Calling magazine will be delivered to households district-wide from the week commencing 2nd December and will promote events taking place from the start of December to the end of February.
If you have any events taking place during this time, please could you email them to DDC on by Friday 11th October.
They will also be added to the Love Daventry ‘What’s On page’ at www.lovedaventry.com/events
If you have already contacted DDC to tell them of an event you do not need to do so again. If your event falls before December, please feel free to send it to us anyway and we can add it to the online events page.
Please also send any relevant pictures you may have – a picture from the same event last year, of the band or choir if it is a concert, or maybe a nice photograph of the venue. It all helps improve the design of the spread.
If you are aware of any areas within Brixworth where Daventry Calling is not being delivered, DDC would be grateful if you could report it by emailing with your address (including house number, street name and postcode) of any homes which are not receiving the magazine.
This will help identify any delivery issues in your area and allow us to work with our distribution contractor to try to resolve them.
Be a Parish Councillor!
We currently have vacancies on the Brixworth Parish Council.
This is a rewarding volunteer role within the community and by contributing just a few hours per month you can be involved in the local decision-making process.
The Parish Council meets monthly in the Community Centre & Library (last Thursday of the month) and we have a friendly team of Councillors who work together for the benefit of Brixworth.
Parish Councillors decide which activities to support, where locally raised money should be spent, what services should be delivered and ensure that the Council operates within its powers. The Parish Council comments on local planning applications (meets every 3 weeks) and it is also the trustee for the Community Centre.
Training, development and support is offered to new Councillors. The meetings are jargon-free and usually finish by 9.30pm.
This is a great opportunity to volunteer and get involved. Younger people could also reap the benefit of having community involvement on their CV!
Applicants should be on the electoral register and be over 18 years old. You must have lived in the Parish, owned land, or worked in the Parish for at least 12 months.
Interested? Please access the form at https://www.brixworthparishcouncil.gov.uk/forms/ and return it completed to the Parish Clerk via email at
The closing date for written applications is Monday 30th September 2019.
