Calling the Police

Northamptonshire Police has pledged to offer non-emergency callers a call back option in a bid to manage call wait times. The Police control room takes an average 1,178 calls a day, and from this figure approximately 167 crimes are recorded.

The pledge sets out an aim to answer 101 calls within 60 seconds and prioritise them according to the level of threat, harm and risk. The force also aims to answer 90 per cent of 999 calls within 10 seconds.

Once the assessment is done and the call put into the appropriate category, the caller may be offered a call back option, after a set time has lapsed, preventing callers from waiting for long periods to have their concern dealt with.

The Police know that people don’t like waiting when they call 101, but with large numbers of calls coming in, if it’s not a higher priority it may end up in a queue.

Save money by finding the best energy deal!

The Northamptonshire Energy Saving Service (known as NESS) is a 3 year project (2018 – 2021) helping to address fuel poverty across Northamptonshire.

It provides free cost saving advice which is both independent and confidential. It uses accredited energy  tariff comparison sites to gain the best deal for you. This service is delivered by a range of partners across the public sector including the County Council and the CAB.
You can visit the NESS van outside of the Library & Community Centre on Tuesday 23rd April. Sarah and Michael  from NESS will be pleased to  meet you.

Audit Committee – Opportunity

17th April 2019

The OPFCC and the Chief Constable of Northamptonshire Police are recruiting new members to join their Joint Independent Audit Committee. The Committee provides independent advice and assurance on the governance of the OPFCC, Northamptonshire Police and the Northamptonshire Commissioner Fire and Rescue Authority.
Successful applicants will receive training and an annual allowance of £3,000. Further information and how to apply can be found here.

Road Repairs

17th April 2019

Northamptonshire Highways are requiring to carry out urgent repairs to Brixworth Road, Spratton. To carry out these works safely will mean that the section of road between School Road and Manor Road will be closed from the 29th April for up to four days between 9.30am and 3pm.
